REC Names New Director of Human Resources

Patricia James Hatcher has recently been promoted to director of Human Resources for REC.

In her new role, Hatcher is responsible for assisting the manager of human resources and employee development in overseeing the day-to-day human resource operations. She has the primary responsibility for directing the staff and in executing personnel policies and practices.

Prior to assuming her new position at the Cooperative, Hatcher served as the HR administrator and the benefits specialist, among other roles at REC. Before arriving at the Cooperative in 2005, Hatcher worked as the compensation and benefits administrator at the Virginia Housing Development Authority in Richmond.

Hatcher earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Averett University; a master's in HR management from Capella University; a professional in HR certification from the HR Certification Institute; and, most recently, earned the title of certified professional from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Hatcher is active in the community. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and a member of Second Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dawn.

She is a native and current resident of Caroline County.
