Director Elections for REC's Board of Directors take place at the Cooperative's Annual Meeting during the month of August. REC's Bylaws govern the election process and director qualifications are further defined in the Board Policy. The nomination period for the 2026 Director Elections is open March 1 - April 24, 2026. Three (3) positions on the REC Board of Directors will be elected at the Annual Meeting on August 5, 2026. 

  • Region IV: Culpeper and Orange Counties. Currently represented by Sanford Reaves Jr.
  • Region V: Spotsylvania County. Currently represented by Randy Thomas.
  • Region IX: Essex, King and Queen, and King William Counties. Currently represented by        Eugene L. Campbell Jr.

To become a candidate, you must be an REC member-owner as defined under Article I of the REC Bylaws. You must also reside in the region that you wish to represent as provided by Article IV of the REC Bylaws. Member-owners signing the nomination petition can be from any of REC's nine regions. For further details on director qualifications and the nomination procedures, please review Article IV of REC's Bylaws.

Completed nominations materials and petitions must be returned to the office of REC's president by 5 p.m. on April 24, 2026.
