Tracey Steiner
Chief Engagement & Consumer Officer
Tracey Steiner is REC's Chief Engagement and Consumer Officer. She leads the areas of communications and public relations, member engagement and experience, and regulatory affairs and economic development.
In Tracey’s early career at NRECA, serving as Manager of Publications and Special Projects Marketing, she focused on marketing and communications programs, assuring the Association’s voice of its membership resonated across the nation.
Expanding in leadership at NRECA, Tracey served in the Government Relations team as Senior Corporate Counsel and advocated for electric co-ops across the federal regulatory landscape for both energy and telecommunications. During Tracey’s tenure as Senior Corporate Counsel, she also advised the Touchstone Energy Cooperative board and staff, helping to grow and further the brand which now serves more than 700 co-ops.
For nearly the last decade, Tracey has served as NRECA’s Senior Vice President of Education, Training and Events. In this role, she has led a team educating thousands of co-op directors and employees and shaped the Association’s world-class events. Her strategic leadership in this area ensured that the educational curriculum, value proposition and knowledge transfer are forward-leaning and advancing co-op interests into the future.
Tracey is recognized as a purpose-driven leader who brings great knowledge and depth of expertise to REC. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Maryland College Park and earned her law degree from George Washington University. Tracey has the unique ability to lead REC’s functional areas, while vastly contributing across the strategic framework of the cooperative.
