Member Questions Drive Discussion During REC Spring Power Hour
Friday | April 3, 2026

As energy costs and demand continue to be top of mind for many member-owners, REC hosted a Power Hour telephone town hall on April 2. The call provided members across REC’s service territory an opportunity to hear updates and ask questions directly with the Cooperative’s President and CEO, John Hewa.

The event automatically dialed member-owners, inviting them to join live, stay informed and participate.

Hewa opened the call by addressing key topics including electric affordability, REC’s efforts to manage rising power costs, investments to improve reliability and how the Cooperative is  planning for continued growth.

The majority of the evening was driven by member questions ranging from higher bills and energy use to data centers, solar power and vegetation management.

"Power Hour gives us a meaningful opportunity to connect with members where they are and keep them informed about what's happening in their cooperative," said Casey Hollins, managing director – Communications and Public Relations. "We appreciate every member who took the time to join the call and be part of the conversation."

Members who were unable to attend can listen to the full recording below.
