2026 Annual Meeting & Director Elections

Elections for REC's Board of Directors take place at the Annual Meeting during the month of August. REC's Bylaws govern the election process and director qualifications are further defined in the Board Policy. The nomination period for the 2026 Director Elections is now closed. Three (3) positions on the REC Board of Directors will be selected at the Annual Meeting on Aug. 5, 2026. The deadline for member-owners to designate their proxy is 5 p.m., Friday, July 31. Members who would like to participate can register to join by phone or view the livestream of the virtual Annual Meeting. Registration closes on July 31 at 5 p.m. 

How to Participate

OPTION 1: DESIGNATE YOUR PROXY ONLINE
If you have a valid email on file with REC, you will receive step-by-step instructions by email. You will be provided with a unique username and password to complete your proxy designation securely online.

Starting July 1, members with an existing MyREC SmartHub account can log in to participate in the proxy designation process. Members who were not signed up for MyREC SmartHub prior to July 1 should follow the instructions they received in the mail, or contact member services at (800) 552-3904 for additional options.

OPTION 2: MAIL IN YOUR PROXY DESIGNATION FORM
Your Proxy Designation Form will arrive by U.S. Mail in early July. If you do not plan to attend the virtual Annual Meeting on Aug. 5, you can complete and return the form to designate your proxy.

Deadline: Completed forms must be received by 5 p.m. on July 31.

Want to Vote Live at the Virtual Annual Meeting?
You must register between July 27 at 7 a.m. and July 31 at 5 p.m.

Only registered members will receive instructions to join the virtual meeting and vote in real time on Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.

If you designate and return your proxy by July 31, you will be entered to win one of 10 $50 cash prizes. 

The following three regions are up for election:

• Region IV: Culpeper and Orange Counties. Currently represented by Sanford Reaves Jr.
• Region V: Spotsylvania County. Currently represented by Randy Thomas.
• Region IX: Essex, King and Queen, and King William Counties. Currently represented by Eugene L. Campbell Jr.

Director elections will be held this year in the following three regions:
