Director Elections

Director Elections for REC’s Board of Directors take place at the Annual Meeting during the month of August. REC’s Bylaws govern the election process and director qualifications are further defined in Board Policy. The nomination period for the 2024 Director Elections has closed. Three (3) positions on the REC Board of Directors will be selected at the Annual Meeting on Aug. 7, 2024.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

DESIGNATE YOUR PROXY ONLINE. Member-owners with a valid email on file in their MyREC SmartHub profile will receive step-by-step instructions. To utilize this online proxy designation method, member-owners will be assigned a unique username and password. All member-owners can create a profile and log in to MyREC SmartHub beginning July 1 to participate in the proxy designation process. Click here to VOTE NOW in MyREC SmartHub.

RETURN YOUR PROXY DESIGNATION FORM after it arrives by U.S. Mail in early July. If you do not plan to participate in the Virtual Annual Meeting on Aug. 7, designate your proxy for the 2024 Director Elections. The completed Proxy Designation must be received by 5 p.m. on July 31, 2024, to be valid.

If your preference is to participate in the Virtual Annual Meeting, registration opens at 7 a.m. on Aug. 1 and closes at 5 p.m. on Aug. 2. Only registered members will receive instructions to join the virtual Annual Meeting on Aug. 7 to cast their vote live.

The following three regions are up for election:

• Region II—The counties of Clarke, Fauquier, and Stafford, and the portions of Warren County and Rappahannock County east of U.S. Route 522. Currently represented by Christopher Shipe.
• Region III—The counties of Albemarle, Greene, Madison, Rockingham, and the portion of Page County located south of U.S. Route 211. Currently represented by Darlene Carpenter.
• Region VIII—The Counties of Hanover and Goochland. Currently represented by Eric Paulson.
