Green Together: REC Implementing Energy Efficiency Program
Tuesday | June 8, 2021

As the electric industry evolves, REC works to stay ahead of the curve. REC will be the first electric cooperative in Virginia to launch an energy efficiency program for member-owners under the new law signed by Governor Northam, SB 754.

“With this new law, REC can help member-owners invest in energy efficiency upgrades for their homes,” said Joyce Bodoh, REC’s director of energy solutions and clean energy. “We are very excited to hear from Cooperative members as we create this program for them.”

As a member-owned cooperative, REC is committed to transparent business practices. In May, REC hosted its first focus group, and there will be more opportunities for members to participate in the conversation.

Two more sessions will be hosted via Zoom, on June 30, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and on August 26, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Members can register to participate in these sessions here: https://bit.ly/34RbsWp. Members will receive a confirmation email after registering with instructions for joining the meeting.

“We want to hear the voices of our member-owners so that we can tailor the program to fit their needs and interests,” said Bodoh. “Our goal is to help member-owners access energy efficiency upgrades and to save money on their electric bills.”
