Chief Growth Officer

 

Herschel Arant, Jr. is REC's Chief Growth Officer. Arant has extensive leadership experience in the electric utility industry. Prior to joining REC, he held several key roles at Central Georgia Electric Membership Corporation, where in his most recent role at the co-op he served as Senior Vice President of Energy Supply and External Services. In more than 20 years at Central Georgia EMC, Arant’s diverse responsibilities have included management of the large load program, retail contracting, power delivery infrastructure development, wholesale power supply portfolio expansion, formation and management of a retail natural gas marketing subsidiary (Fuel Georgia), regulatory, rate design, broadband system wide fiber to the home rollout and key accounts administration.

Earlier in his career, Arant gained experience in transmission level projects through his work at Georgia Transmission Corporation and Duke Engineering and Services.

Arant holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Georgia State University as well as being a registered professional engineer.
