Member-Owners Connect with REC through Telephone Town Hall

Member-owners of REC were able to connect directly with President and CEO John Hewa during a Telephone Town Hall event, which was held on Thursday, June 24.

REC invited a random sample of 50,000 member-owners to participate in the call. More than 12,000 members accepted the call to participate.

Hewa was able to answer 16 questions live during the event, which lasted just over an hour. At any given moment, there were nearly 100 members in line ready to ask questions. At the conclusion of the call, over 50 voicemails were left with follow-up questions.

Members asked questions about such topics as reliability, the outage restoration process, solar and REC’s power supply, electric vehicle charging, high bills, MyREC SmartHub and broadband.

REC hosts these opportunities for members to be able to ask questions directly to the Cooperative’s President and CEO, and for members to hear some of the same information that will shared at the upcoming Annual Meeting, which will be held virtually on Aug. 11. Members who did not have their questions answered live and those who left a voicemail received follow-up calls from REC’s management team and other REC leaders.
