We had a conversation today with Brian Wolfe about REC’s Youth Tour program & student scholarships. Each year, eight students from REC’s service territory travel to Washington, D.C., to explore key issues in the electric industry, study the cooperative business model, interact with students in team- and leadership-building programs, tour historical and cultural sites, meet their members of Congress and attend a show at the Kennedy Center. They also make lifelong friends.

Each year Rappahannock Electric Cooperative offers the REC Community Scholarship program to students who are seeking to advance their career goals by attending a college or trade school. To apply for each scholarship, the applicant’s parent or guardian must be a consumer-owner of REC and the applicant must be planning to enroll in an accredited educational or training institution.
