Peace Joins Rappahannock Electric Cooperative as Director of Finance

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) has named Melody Peace as the new Director of Finance.

In her role, Peace will lead REC’s financial processes, ensure compliance and identify opportunities to increase efficiency. 

“Melody brings a depth of experience across multiple areas of finance, along with a strong focus on continuous improvement,” said Steven Roddy, REC’s Chief Financial Officer. “Her leadership will be key to supporting the Cooperative’s financial strength as we plan for long-term growth.”

Peace joins REC following a 16-year career with the Tennessee Valley Authority, where she held several leadership positions in finance, supply chain and regulatory assurance and compliance. Earlier in her career, she worked in audit, tax, risk, treasury, SOX controls, system implementations, and change management.

In addition to her professional experience, Peace is actively involved in several professional and community organizations, including the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) State Council and Student Outreach & Recruiting Speaker’s Bureau, Tennessee Technological University Accounting Advisory Board, The MOMentum Network Board (Treasurer) and East Tennessee State University’s Honors College Advisory Council.
