REC Employee Receives Certified Key Accounts Executive Recognition
Thursday | February 8, 2024

REC's Christina Lawson, Key Accounts Executive, has earned recognition as a professional key accounts manager in a national certification program offered by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

Lawson has met the requirements to become a Certified Key Accounts Executive. The program was established to improve service to commercial and industrial accounts. This is done through the establishment of business goals, identification of key-account profiles, the practice of professional sales management, and. the application of sound decision-making processes.

Since the program began in 1998, over 600 electric cooperative key accounts professionals have attained the certification.

To earn the certificate, Lawson had to complete coursework, pass an exam, and submit business and marketing plans for evaluation. Her written plans were judged by an outside business professional for content and strategic acumen.

Lawson manages the relationship between REC and a number of the Cooperative's key accounts and large power activities for member-owners in the northern portion of REC's service area, which includes Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Rappahannock, Madison and Greene counties. To help attract, retain and expand businesses, she works with large commercial and industrial members to ensure they are served at the best rate based on their electric load profile. She also works to ensure they have the reliable power they need.
