REC Hosts Telephone Town Hall
Friday | May 3, 2019

On Thursday, May 2, REC hosted a Telephone Town Hall event. REC invited a random sample of about 50,000 member-owners to participate in the call. Nearly 5,000 members accepted the call to participate.

Kent Farmer, President and CEO, answered questions live during the event that lasted just over an hour. He was joined by Christopher Shipe, chairman of REC’s Board of Directors. At the conclusion of the call, dozens of voicemails were left for follow-up questions.

The topics members asked questions about were reliability, green energy, electric rates, MyREC SmartHub, energy efficiency, broadband, Cooperative Sunshare and high bills.

REC hosts these opportunities for member-owners to be able to ask questions directly to our President and CEO. Over the next week, members who did not have their questions answered live and those who left a voicemail will receive follow-up calls from REC's management team and others.
