REC Makes Significant Headway in Outage Restoration
Thursday | June 23, 2022

REC crews, contractors and mutual aid crews from other cooperatives were able to restore power to the majority of members who lost power during the powerful storms that rolled through our region yesterday.

As of 6 p.m., just over 2,000 member-owners remained without power as a result of 135 separate outage events. The areas with the most severe and extensive damage remaining are north of Culpeper and in Fauquier County. Crews will continue to work tonight and through tomorrow until every member has power restored.

As a reminder, please consider any downed power line energized and stay at least 10 feet clear of any downed lines and anything that might be in contact with the lines. If you see a downed power line, please call 911 and REC to report it.
