REC Names Director - Distribution Design

REC has promoted Nathan Fewell to Director – Distribution Design.

In his new role, Fewell will provide oversight of distribution design activities, ensuring consistency in design practices and adherence to policies, procedures and industry codes.

“By collaborating and coordinating with REC’s Engineering and Operations & Construction departments, Fewell plays a critical part in planning and implementing electrical facility designs that support both current operations and future growth,” said Chris Stoia, Managing Director – Engineering & Power Supply. 

“Fewell’s new position is essential to maintaining high performance standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting the REC’s overall goals and system reliability.”

Fewell has spent more than 15 years in the field of designing electrical distribution systems with previous roles including Distribution Operations Assistant at Dominion Virginia Power and Supervisor of System Construction at Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative.

Joining REC in May 2020 as Senior Distribution Designer, Fewell most recently served as Supervisor of Distribution Design for REC’s Culpeper office. 

Fewell earned an Associate’s Degree in business administration from Potomac State College of West Virginia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in business management from Shenandoah University. 

Fewell is an avid baseball and softball coach in his local community. He resides in Amissville, Va., with his wife, Kara, a teacher at Fauquier High School, and their three children, Carter, Reagan and Hayes.
