REC Names New Manager of Eastern Region

David M. "Maxie" Rozell Jr. was recently selected to be manager of REC's Eastern Region, based in Bowling Green.

In his new role, Rozell is responsible for the eastern region distribution operations and construction. He will oversee vegetation management services, fleet management and contracts and permitting throughout REC.

Prior to assuming his new position, Rozell was the Cooperative's manager of safety, security and risk management. He began working at the Cooperative in 1985 as a meter reader, and has served on REC's leadership team for more than a decade. Prior to joining REC, Rozell worked as a deputy sheriff in Caroline County.

Rozell, a graduate of Caroline High School, completed the Administration of Safety Program at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Business. He also has earned the Certified Loss Control Professional certification from the University of Nebraska and completed the Management Internship Program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Business.

Rozell, a resident of Caroline County, is active in the community. He is a life member of the Frog Level Volunteer Fire Department in Caroline and serves on the Board of Directors for the Rappahannock United Way. He is also a trustee at his church.

REC provides electric service to over 165,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties.
