REC Recognized as United Way ‘All Star’ Supporter
Wednesday | June 15, 2022

REC was one of seven businesses to receive an “All-Star” award for their 2021 workplace campaign from the Rappahannock United Way.

For the 2021 REC Workplace Campaign – between payroll deductions and special prize drawings – employees from the Cooperative’s Fredericksburg office raised $24,007 and employees from the Bowling Green office raised $5,187 for a total gift of $29,194 to donate to the Rappahannock United Way! The 2021 campaign was a virtual campaign that included prizes of an extra day of vacation, custom REC hats, a family photo session and custom-made cornhole boards by REC’s very own Andrew Joos, Meter Technician First Class.

“The past two years have been virtual campaigns with their own new challenges and hurdles, but one thing has stayed the same – our REC family continues to support the communities we live in and serve,” said Lacey Lee, Communications and Public Relations Generalist. “This successful workplace campaign is just one of the ways we do that and our contributions shine brightly even through some of the darkest times and when our communities needed our support the most. I am so grateful to be part of an organization that actually lives by our core values.”

REC attended the United Way celebration at the Fredericksburg Nationals baseball stadium in Fredericksburg. REC is proud of its long history of supporting the United Way in its efforts to support our communities, and the recent event was an opportunity to bring together local like-minded businesses.
