'Without You Guys, We'd Be in the Dark'

REC crews and contractors responded after hours-long severe storms pummeled many portions of the Cooperative's 22-county service territory Thursday night, Aug. 29, and into Friday, Aug. 30. The Hartwood region was hit especially hard by damaging winds, downed trees and broken poles.

"It's hard work, but it's really rewarding," said Kevin Fines, an Apprentice Lineman.

"Whenever I get a call about storm damage, it's kind of a chance for me to give back to the community."
