Youth Tour Applications Available From REC
Tuesday | January 16, 2018

Picture this: an opportunity to travel to Washington D.C., meeting nearly 2,000 other students, a tour of Capitol Hill, meeting congressional representatives, a Potomac River cruise, touring museums like the National Museum of African American History, and so much more! All of this is available through REC's Youth Tour and open to high school students in REC’s service territory.

Applications for REC's Youth Tour are due February 19, 2018. Completed applications can be dropped off at any REC office, faxed, emailed, or postmarked by the deadline. To learn more and access the application, visit www.myrec.coop/youthtour or contact Brian Wolfe, REC’s public relations specialist, at 1-800-552-3904, ext. 5914 or community@myrec.coop.

The program is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to not only learn more about the governing process, but also learn more about issues directly impacting their communities. It's also a great opportunity to raise questions or concerns with a representative. Don’t just take our word for it! REC provides electric service to over 165,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties. With its general office in Fredericksburg, Va., Rappahannock maintains more than 17,000 miles of power lines through its service area, which ranges from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
