A Day in the Life: Member Services Field Rep – Scott Ricketts

Our conversation today with Scott Ricketts, Member Service Field Representative with REC, included an overview of a typical day that ranges from meter reading, service calls, and outage issues to community events and more. We talked about all the different things that are part of Scott’s job description and his experience with members across the service territory.

REC’s Water Heater Replacement program can assist with arranging delivery and installation of a new water heater, as well as give you up to 36 months to pay for it – interest free. 

Education: Youth Tour & Student Scholarships

We had a conversation today with Brian Wolfe about REC’s Youth Tour program & student scholarships. Each year, eight students from REC’s service territory travel to Washington, D.C., to explore key issues in the electric industry, study the cooperative business model, interact with students in team- and leadership-building programs, tour historical and cultural sites, meet their members of Congress and attend a show at the Kennedy Center. They also make lifelong friends.

Community Grants

We had a conversation today with Lindsey Edwards about REC’s commitment to the communities they serve. One of the ways they give back is through grants that support local schools, nonprofits, and emergency services teams. Lindsey told us how they work, the types of projects they’ve helped fund over the years, and how to apply for a community grant.

The Power of Change

We were in the studio with Casey Hollins, Director of Communications and Public Relations for REC to talk about The Power of Change program that supports local charities and non-profit organizations. Applications for funding are now being accepted until 5pm on August 9, 2019. Casey told us about the program’s history, why it’s an important part of REC’s mission, and how you can support the program.
