Digital Media Specialist - Fredericksburg

The Digital Media Specialist is responsible for creating and managing content across REC’s digital platforms, including the company websites, social media, as well as producing video and audio content as part of the cooperative’s comprehensive communication strategy. This role oversees the entire video and audio production process, from ideation to post-production, and manages REC’s digital streaming initiatives to enhance member engagement and convey key messages aligned with REC’s goals.

Chief Growth Officer - Fredericksburg

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) is seeking a Chief Growth Officer, a senior executive role responsible for driving sustainable growth through market expansion,  innovation, and customer-focused strategies. This leader will oversee the intake of new large customers, the development of service agreements and contracts, and the design, construction, and delivery of electric infrastructure needed to achieve energization. The role also directs power generation activities that support both temporary (bridging) and permanent power needs for large customer projects, including loads served outside of  REC’s wholesale power contract, in collaboration with and subject to approval by REC’s G&T. A key priority for this position is the ability to create new revenue streams, expand the cooperative’s energy portfolio, and leverage digital transformation initiatives to strengthen REC’s position as a leader in the evolving energy landscape.

Relay Engineer/Technician III/IV

This role is responsible for the programming, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of protection control devices within the REC territory. This includes the Cooperative’s transmission, substation, and distribution assets. This work requires an understanding of power systems, transformers, protective relaying, and electrical engineering principles.

 
The role will be filled at the appropriate level— III, or IV—based on the candidate’s education and relevant experience.
 

External Communications Specialist - Fredericksburg

The External Communications Specialist oversees the development, execution, and management of communication materials distributed to REC’s members and the public. This role ensures that all external publications, member communications, and digital content are crafted to consistently reflect and promote REC’s mission, values, and strategic priorities. The Specialist is tasked with maintaining a strong, cohesive brand presence across various platforms, ensuring that messaging is clear, engaging, and tailored to the needs of diverse audiences. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with internal teams and external partners to optimize communication efforts and strengthen REC’s public image and member engagement.

Economic Development Specialist - Fredericksburg

The Economic Development Specialist will provide more robust support of economic development, engineering, and member services departments through: increased capacity to respond to requests for information and enhanced project follow-up, increased focus on data recording and research to provide for enhanced analytical decision-making and increased community visibility, further developing reputation as an energy expert and partner in long-term decision planning.
