PR/Communications Intern

REC's nationally recognized Comms & PR team offers an internship that will allow you to take the lead of projects, build teamwork skills, learn about a complex but critical industry, and strengthen your communication skills.


As an intern in the Communications and Public Relations Department, your job is to tell the stories and market the benefits of REC initiatives. We’re looking for an intern who can cut through the jargon to tell the stories that highlight our employees and the work they do to support the REC community. The intern will also provide logistical support for long- term projects and aid the team in meeting project goals.

Regulatory Affairs/Compliance Intern

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative is one of Virginia’s largest distribution cooperatives, providing electric service to 170,000 members across 22 counties in Virginia. The Regulatory Affairs & Compliance department is responsible for rate design, case filing, compliance filing, cooperative legal structure, depreciation study coordination and legislative involvement. REC seeks a summer intern to assist in the regulatory affairs & compliance efforts to advance the department.

Business Research Intern

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative seeks an Intern to join our Economic Development Department. This role will be an average of 29 hours per week. This position is primarily remote with occasional meetings in Fredericksburg or other REC offices. The information below will explain educational qualifications and expectations.

Human Resources Intern

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative is one of Virginia’s largest distribution cooperatives, providing electric service to over 140,000 members across 22 counties in Virginia. REC’s Human Resources Department is seeking a Human Resources intern to support Cooperative HR practices and workforce development.

Clean Energy Programs Intern

The Energy Solutions and Clean Energy department is responsible for electric transportation, energy efficiency, demand response, and residential solar programs. REC seeks a summer intern to assist in developing clean energy programs, along with researching and presenting grid innovative solutions for the Cooperative.
