Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) is seeking a Director - Accounting & Internal Controls who oversees the department’s accounting operations and ensures strict adherence to internal control policies and procedures.

This role provides strategic leadership in all accounting matters including month-end close, auditing, tax and external reporting for REC, while guiding accounting teams to maintain accuracy and integrity in financial data. The Director collaborates with executive leadership to develop and implement best practices for internal controls, drives process
improvements, and supports organizational goals through effective resource management and staff development.

We are seeking an innovative, systems-minded Grid Modernization Engineer to help shape the future of the electric grid. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing REC’s modernization strategy — integrating battery storage, distributed generation, DERMS, smart grid devices, energy efficiency, electric transportation, and behind-the-meter technologies to enable a cleaner, more intelligent, and more resilient energy network.

The ideal candidate is a professional engineer (P.E.) or equivalent with a passion for reimagining how electricity is generated, stored, and consumed. You’ll lead initiatives that fuse engineering excellence with emerging technology, driving real-world projects that redefine how our members interact with the energy system.

To ensure the safe and reliable operation of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s electrical system in the most economical method possible through prudent and orderly planning and analysis.

The Senior Project Manager – Hyperscale Infrastructure Projects (SPM-HIP) is a leader responsible for overseeing and directing the full lifecycle of data center infrastructure growth and technical execution for hyperscale engineering projects within the Cooperative. This role manages a substantial and expanding portfolio of direct-serve projects totaling more than $800M, including large-scale electric delivery infrastructure, substations, transmission interconnections, and the timely delivery of associated initiatives. SPM-HIP provides leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and acts as the primary interface with executive stakeholders, including Fortune 100 enterprise clients, real estate developers, and governmental agencies.

The SPM-HIP leads consultants, and contractors ensuring all engineering, procurement, design, and construction activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position is accountable for resource allocation, risk management, and the development of project management best practices across the Cooperative’s portfolio. SPM-HIP collaborates with transmission providers and G&T Cooperative partners to ensure seamless project integration and energization.

This role is responsible for the programming, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of protection control devices within the REC territory. This includes the Cooperative’s transmission, substation, and distribution assets. This work requires an understanding of power systems, transformers, protective relaying, and electrical engineering principles.

 
The role will be filled at the appropriate level— III, or IV—based on the candidate’s education and relevant experience.
